First dates are awesome!
They are unexpected, usually full of excitement and you just don’t know what’s going to happen. The adrenaline rush you get from the complete uncertainty makes it all the more exciting. But you would be amazed to know that sometimes things can turn out to be so bad that they don’t even classify as a bad date they classify as something out of this world.
And the following story falls into that category. You see when a guy refused to pay €110 for his date’s meal on their first date it took an interesting turn. Scroll down to see what happened next!
Here’s the conversation after their first date.
Woah, wait a second. Hold up! What?! What’s wrong with paying for your food? That too, in an exceptional case like this?
Ah, the coping mechanism of stubborn people. If nothing goes your way, personally attack the other person.
But one should never underestimate the opponent in an argument because things can backfire quickly. Ouch!
I guess, it serves her right.
“The date was fun at first until she started talking about another guy and how much he liked him, but I thought ‘let’s eat, talk and leave’ since she’s into another guy, and it all crumbled when it came to the bill,” the guy said while talking to Bored Panda. “She was shocked that I let her pay. She didn’t say anything at the time, but from her facial expression I realised she was furious.”
“I usually pay for both sides when it comes to the bill, but I’m a student and I work 60 hours a week to pay for food, books etc. so I obviously couldn’t afford to pay 110 euros for her food. I asked her out again to apologise pretty much for the previous time, hoping we can go to a cheaper place so I could make up for it, but as you can see, the result was really bad…”
What a bummer!
Here’s what people had to say regarding the whole encounter.
It’s funny but true that people like this actually exist.
It was the first date. They barely knew each other. How do you expect someone to pay for you like this?
“You pay for yourself.”
Should the guy always pay for the meal regardless of how much it costs or what? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!
