Mother Of H&M Child Model In ‘Monkey’ Sweatshirt Made Opened Up And Urged To ‘Stop Crying’

Recently, H&M was under fire for a hoodie.

They featured a black kid wearing a “coolest monkey in the jungle”. The problem here was that the viewers and those offended by the hoodie were racially charged and saw racism in everything, including the playfulness of a monkey and immediately saw it as an attack on black people.

This image brought out a lot of people who associated black people with monkeys out of the woodwork.

And people like me had to be explained why it was racist. Because unlike them, we don’t automatically associate monkeys with black people, and more so energy, playfulness and giddiness. Many artists came forward with their own opinion and statement on the piece.

Even, but not exclusively, The Weeknd.

But the mother has since come out and made a statement on it.

She posted on her Instagram her thoughts on the matter, and she, much like many, didn’t see it as a problem.

“Am the mum and this is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modelled,” she wrote. “Stop crying Wolf all the time, unnecessary issue here. Get over it.”

“That’s my son… have been to all photoshoots and this was not an exception, everyone is entitled to their opinion about this.”

“I really don’t understand but not because am choosing not to but because it’s not my way of thinking. Sorry.”

But that didn’t stop other people from getting offended on her behalf.

According to sources, Diddy even offered her son a million dollar modelling contract. What a world.
