“I started with nothing.” Well, maybe you should know that “starting with nothing” isn’t the same as starting with $40k student debt.
I think all those baby boomers who brag about paying their bills and college tuition just by working night shifts and owning a house in their early twenties need to understand that they can’t compare the world they lived in decades ago to the world we are living in now.
It’s easy for them to blame us for being ‘lazy’ and not having good jobs. But, do they see us questioning them for not doing this or that when they could’ve easily done it in their time? No, right? That’s because we understand how the real world works. It’s all easier said than done.
And don’t even get me started on the increase in the inflation rate over the past decades. I mean, do baby boomers even think about considering all the facts before they start judging us millennials for not owning a house or living a better life? It reminds me of that dumb tweet that said “‘Why aren’t millennials buying diamonds?’ Because dude, I work at a grocery store!”
Anyway, I think I’ve made my point clear. However, for more clarity, check out this angry millennial rant below that will explain how our generation didn’t sign up for half the things we face today!
That’s why it’s not fair to compare.
Imagine working your a** off just so you could barely provide for your family.
But you never think about this, do you?
So, who are you siding with? The millennials or the baby boomers? Let us know in the comments below.
